Masterpieces from the World's Museums in the Hermitage
- Futurism. Novecento. Abstraction. Italian Art of the 20th century

The exhibition presents around 90 paintings, starting with the Futurism of Italian abstractionists from the first half of the 20th century until 1950. The exhibits are on loan from the Italian Museum of Modern Art in Rovereto, Trento Province, and also from private collections around Italy.

The exhibition has been organized jointly by the State Hermitage and the St Petersburg Mint. More than 250 exhibit items are on display, illustrating the development of medal design and production from the time of Peter the Great to the commemorative medals and coins of our own day.



Nicholas Roerich - Celebrating the 130th anniversary of the artist's birthday

Celebrating the 130th anniversary of Nicholas Roerich's birth, this jubilee exhibition showcases 66 works of painting from the collection of the Russian Museum. The pictures trace the various stages of the artist's career - his Russian period, expedition to India and the time he lived in the subcontinent. This is the first time that the artist's earliest oil painting Ukranian Landscape, created when he was a student of Arkhip Kuindzhi, has ever been shown to the public.

The exhibition will show the grand perspective of the development of the Russian ecclesiastical art and architecture within more than two centuries - from Peter the Great to Nicholas II - through evolution of art styles and political ideas connected with the religious traditions of the country.

The exhibition showcases works of painting, graphic art, sculpture and folk art from the collection of the Russian Museum, including the works of such artists of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries as Victor Vasnetsov, Mikhail Nesterov, Sergei Korovin, Ilya Repin, Vasily Perov, Valery Jacoby, Ivan Shishkin, Alexei Savrasov, Fyodor Vasilyev, Isaac Levitan, Kazimir Malevich and Vladimir Tatlin. They are all united by one common subject - the theme of the road.
