Sample Itinerary
Day 1: An orientation walk down historical Nevsky Prospect that
ends up at the Hermitage. Lunch will be held at the historic Literary Cafe
frequented by the Russian literary elite of the XIX century, such as Alexander Pushkin.
Dr. Donnelly will hold an optional class on the fabulous Itinerant Artists
of the last half of the 19th Century at the hotel.
Day 2: A visit to the Church on the Spilled Blood and the Russian
State Museum of Art.
A class at the hotel on the history of Russian Porcelain will be led by
Dr. Valentina Batashkova, head of the Applied Arts Department of the
Academy of Arts and a renowned expert in her field.
Day 3: A visit to Tsarskoye Selo (Pushkin), Catherine the Great's Summer Palace
and the Alexander Palace.
Day 4:A ride to Peterhof, Peter I's great Baroque Palace on the
Finnish Gulf and a walk in the formal gardens.
A visit to the beautiful Peter and Paul Cathedral.
Day 5: Trip to Pavlovsk, where a tour of the grounds and
Palace will reveal a tremendous collection of art.
Day 6: A visit to the Alexander Nevsky Lavra, the monastery
where the Patron Saint of Russia is buried along with many of the most
famous
Russian artists of the past 300 years.
After lunch, a tour of Saint Issac's Cathedral, the largest church in Russia.
Finally, a tour of the most beautiful underground Metro stations.
Day 7: A day in the fabulous walled city of Novogorod with Professor
Shilov, an Academy of Arts Russian art and architecture expert, as our guide.
Day 8: A visit to the Naval Museum, the Peter and Paul Fortress, and the
world famous Artillery Museum, plus a night at the Mariinski theater for a ballet
or opera performance.
Day 9: Tour of the Academy of Fine Arts Museum, the Menshikov Palace, and Peter's Museum
of Curiosities before a memorable dinner at the Senat Bar.
Day 10: Tour of the Summer Garden, the Yusupov Palace, and the Field of Mars, plus
shopping. That evening, a grand farewell party at the Restaurant St. Petersburg.
Your all-inclusive tour of St. Petersburg includes all of the following:

Six-star accommodations - $12,500
Five-star accommodations - $7,800
Three-star accommodations - $5,800
Not included: The price is all-inclusive except for tips to the guides,
which are optional, extra beverages or food not on the regular
menu, personal laundry services, and the license fees for cameras
or video cameras in the various museums. This fee is normally
from $1 to $3, and the guides will be happy to help with the
procedure.
